The ability of a drum circle to sharpen the senses and revitalize a person, or to break down barriers and unify a group of people is well documented. We encourage you to read the many other proven benefits of a Drum Circle listed below. It is often said that the sheer elation felt as one transcends all worries and becomes swept up in the primordial rhythms of a Drum Circle can not be described, but must be experienced. Therefore, short of actually trying it all we can say is: It’s Dynamite!
TNT Drum Circle incorporates a range of tribal drums and percussive instruments to produce a beautifully balanced ensemble where participants play everything from driving bass lines through to solo melody lines. For the heart of the ensemble voice, every student has his or her own authentic African Djembe which is considered one of the most versatile, beautiful and playable hand drums ever created. Our Drum Circle is somewhat unique from others in that we often play along with other music which we feel adds to the excitement and musical versatility of group members.
About Drum Circles
Wikipedia definition: "
A drum circle is any group of people playing hand-drums and percussion in a circle. They are distinct from a drumming group or troupe in that the drum circle is an end in itself rather than preparation for a performance. They can range in size from a handful of players to circles with thousands of participants".

We like this definition because it “hits” upon the true essence of a drum circle, and that is to benefit each participant in the moment, and not at some future performance date. We contend the immediate benefits of participating in a drum circle range from feeling a sense of well-being and happiness through to complete exhilaration and euphoria.

The drum is an ancient tool of communication and community building. In Africa and other parts of the world the drum has been a critical part of community life, from celebrating joyous events and tribal rituals to helping decision makers and warriors prepare for battle. The primordial connection that peoples across all cultures still have with rhythm can be traced back to ancient times. Some people go as far to suggest that the meditative rhythmic pulse of a drum instinctively connects us with the quantum reality that everything in the universe is vibrating and pulsing in a sound-like manner. In any case… drumming in a dynamic group environment is just tons of fun!

The Djembe drum, originally from the west cost of Africa, has emerged as one of the most popular hand drums throughout the world. Played with the hands and producing three distinct tones (and many variations thereof) the Djembe is used by performers, educators and drum circle participants everywhere. The Djembe’s popularity is due to its wide sonic spectrum which produces tones ranging from deep bellowing basses to high cracking sounds. It is for its beautiful tone and depth of character, and its playability that we have chosen a Djembe for each Drum Circle participant. [In recognition of the Djembe’s African origins and the great tradition of Djembe Makers and Djembe Masters in Africa today, TNT Drum Circle is proud to use Djembes purchased through the African Heartwood Project. Africa Heartwood Project and Djembe Direct work with African drum carvers to sustain their livelihoods by providing training, micro-credit, and markets for hand crafted Djembes and other drums in which they are compensated above fair trade standards].
