Ascension Sound Studios is a modern professional recording studio in Ottawa that specializes in capturing vocal and acoustical instrument performances.
The studio utilizes world-class equipment throughout to preserve an ultralow noise signal path. From asymmetrical balanced power conditioners and boutique remote controlled preamps, dynamic processors and industry standard Apogee Convertors through to top studio microphones like the transparent Royer Ribbons - Ascension Sound achieves uncompromised crystal-clear sound reproduction. Our optimal balance of professional analogue outboard gear is combined with digital recording/ processing/ editing performed on the latest Logic Pro X platform.
Ascension Sound offers highly competitive recording rates provided on an individual project basis, be-it a short demo recording session or an entire album for a soloist, chamber group, jazz or other primarily acoustic ensemble.
We also have an arsenal of synths and professional MIDI based instruments and offer comprehensive composition, multimedia scoring, production and producing services to compliment any project.

We were recently thrilled to welcome to the studio Master Violinist and Teacher Gwen Thompson. Gwen performed exceptionally on the commissioned debut recording of the modern piece "Seppia Suite for Solo Violin" by English Composer William Miller.
Congratulations to Gwen on this beautiful recording, and on her appointment to the Order of Canada!
